A low boiling tower is a device used for separating liquid mixtures, whose core is to utilize the boiling point differences of different liquid components to achieve separation.
The working principle of a low boiling tower is based on the difference in boiling points of liquids. A low boiling tower is a device used for separating liquid mixtures, whose core is to utilize the boiling point differences of different liquid components to achieve separation. When a mixture is heated, low boiling point substances boil first, while high boiling point substances remain in a liquid state. The steam generated by boiling is converted into liquid through a condenser and collected. By continuously heating and cooling, low boiling point substances can be gradually separated from the mixture.
Low boiling towers are usually equipped with distillation columns to increase separation efficiency. The fractionation column is a vertical pipeline with packing inside, used to expand the contact area between the liquid and gas phases. When the mixture enters the fractionation column, low boiling point substances sublime upwards along the column, while high boiling point substances flow downwards along the column. In this way, low boiling point substances are separated and collected from the top of the tower, while high boiling point substances are discharged from the bottom of the tower.
Low boiling towers have a wide range of applications. This separation process is widely used in industries such as oil refining, chemical engineering, and pharmaceuticals, utilizing the boiling point differences of different substances to achieve efficient separation.
